Nokomis Beach

Nokomis Beach in Sarasota, Florida

Heading west on Albee Road, you will find Sarasota’s oldest public beach, Nokomis Beach. The Nokomis Beach Plaza was built in the 1950s and has been serving the community and its visitors ever since. The beach features a boat ramp, canoe launch, fishing pier, picnic facilities, playground field, and restrooms.

This family-oriented beach is a popular spot for fishing, bird watching, and offers some of the best surfing on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

While the shark teeth aren’t as prevalent as they are at other beaches like Caspersen Beach, shark tooth hunters should till keep their eye out!

A concession stand is available, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menu includes pulled-pork tacos, hot dogs, fries, ice cream, juices, and a variety of alcoholic beverages.

Be sure to catch the live drum circle that performs every Wednesday and Saturday evenings at sunset. Nokomis Beach is a short ten-minute drive from Venice Beach Villas, perfect for a beach-day excursion.
