A popular area park is the Venetian Waterway Park and Trail. A favorite amongst locals, easily bike along its scenic trail to find colorful murals, other area parks, picnic areas, and so much more!
The Venetian Waterway Park
The Venetian Waterway Park is a scenic 10-mile trail that was developed to give users an outdoor experience surrounded by the natural beauty of Venice, Florida. The winding concrete pathway takes you through downtown Venice, past historic buildings and murals, and into natural parks full of wildlife.
Open from sunrise to sunset, joggers, cyclists, and walkers use the trail and park to enjoy Florida’s sunshine and coastal vibes. With its linear design, each side of the five miles of bicycle/walking trail is the Intracoastal Waterway, beginning just south of the Historic Venice Train Depot. The western path connects downtown Venice to Caspersen Beach Park. Cross the bridge to access the eastern side and explore Shamrock Park & Nature Center. Along the route, users will also be able to enjoy picnic shelters and grills, benches, and of course, scenic views.
Connect to other trails
Want to extend your route and see more of Venice? The Venetian Waterway Park Trail connects to the Legacy Trail at the Historic Venice Train Depot, 301 E. Venice Ave., creating almost 23 miles of uninterrupted trails. This 10-mile-long trail runs along the train depot in Venice beach, starting from Palmer Ranch and ending in Venice. And if you want, the Legacy Trail will actually take you all the way to Sarasota, for one epic ride!
