The beach

Venice Beach is a Certified Blue Wave Beach. The Blue Wave program is the first national environmental certification for beaches and works to maintain healthy and vibrant beaches. Because of this certification, you know you will enjoy one of the cleanest beaches in the country.

Nesting turtles
Venice Beach is home to plentiful wildlife, including nesting sea turtles. Between May and October, Venice Beach is home to a large number of marine turtle nests. Five types of sea turtles nest here, including Green, Leatherback, Kemp’s Ridley, Hawksbill, and Loggerhead (most common in Venice Beach). If you spot a nest or baby turtles, keep quiet and do not disturb.
