Venice Beach Boat Parade

When: first Saturday of December

Perhaps one of the more unique ways in which to spend the holidays in Venice Beach, FL, is with the Venice Beach Boat Parade. Watch as hundreds of boats, both big and small, glide through the water all decked out in their Christmas glory. With our miles of intercoastal waterways, Venice offers some of the best viewing spots in the area. The boats are best seen from the Intercoastal Waterway, starting at the Albee Coastal Bridge and traveling south to Circus Bridge.

Christmas walk in historic downtown Venice

When: first Thursday of December

Enjoy the sights and sounds of the season with the annual Christmas walk through historic downtown Venice. Ring in the holidays with live entertainment, shopping, holiday treats and décor, and so much more! Be sure to also check out the winners of the storefront decorations contest. Plus, get your holiday shopping done early, as stores will be offering special discounts throughout the evening.

Holiday tree lighting

When: second Saturday of December

Bring the entire family for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony at the Monty Andrews Arboretum at West Blalock Park. In conjunction with the ceremony, there will be music with the Venice Orchestra and the Venice area Youth Symphony, crafts for kids, and Christmas activities, plus a meet and greet with Santa. If you miss the lighting ceremony, the park will remain lit during the evenings, through January 1, 2020.

The Nutcracker

Come see the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, held at the Venice Performing Arts Center. As one of the nation’s largest community theaters, the Venice Performing Arts Center holds performances throughout the year with special events for the holiday season. Performed by the Sarasota Cuban Ballet, the feature is accompanied by musicians of the Venice Symphony.

Christmas candlelight celebration
