Venetian Waterway Park
Located on either side of the Intracoastal Waterway, the Venetian Waterway Park was developed by Venice Area Beautification Inc or VABI. Highly popular with locals, this attraction near Venice beach connects the heart of Venice to the park belonging to Caspersen beach and offers hiking and bicycle trails, picnic, and restroom facilities. This trail also connects to the Legacy Trail, which will take you into Sarasota.
Shamrock Park and Nature Center
The Shamrock Park and Nature Center features some of the last remaining scrub habitats in the coastal area. The park features a 1.2-mile paved path that connects to the Venetian Waterway Trail – a popular biking trail in Florida. Because of this connection, visitors can bike or walk to downtown Venice, the historic train station, and Caspersen Beach. The nature center features educational lectures, seminars, and other events.
South Jetty Park
Also known as Humphris Park, the South Jetty Park rests at the west end of Tarpon Center Drive. It offers picnic tables, benches, food concessions, and restrooms. It’s a fun place to fish, surf, enjoy views of the Gulf, and witness a Florida sunset.
Park at Brohard Beach
Just north of Caspersen, you will find the park at Brohard Beach in Venice, FL. It is best known as Sarasota County’s only public beach where dogs are allowed. Most would argue it is the best Paw Park in all of Florida! There are separate fenced areas for small and large dogs and a whole host of other amenities for your furry friends. The city-owned park features the Venice Fishing Pier, a picnic pavilion, picnic tables, showers, and restrooms on the property for public use.
Up the road, Service Club Park features playground equipment and boardwalks with covered picnic areas. You will also find the U.S. Coast Guard Flotilla Training Center, wetlands, and several areas that are great for bird watching and wildlife viewing.
